Deaf and Hearing Interpreters: Effective Team Working

Deaf people have always worked as interpreters for other members of the deaf community, but in recent years the profession of deaf interpreting has started to be recognised.

To date, there has been little training focused on how deaf and hearing interpreters work together effectively, and some hearing interpreters may have had few opportunities to work with a deaf interpreter colleague.

As our profession evolves, it is important for deaf and hearing interpreter colleagues to spend time together to discuss effective working practices in different settings.

So, this day is an opportunity to talk. We’ll structure our discussions with questions and activities. It’s a space for the conversations between deaf and hearing interpreters to begin and develop.

This workshop is available in your area on request.
